I’ve noticed some people on twitter seem to hate it when people post about food, I’m not one of those people. My only thing with food related tweets is that they post a photo with it. I want to be able to see the food, so I can properly crave it. For awhile now I’ve had a habit of occasionally taking pictures of my food. Especially if it’s something I made myself, or if it’s an imported snack, stuff like that.

I made some tonkatsu recently, my only regret is I did not have cabbage with it. Not only is it usually served with tonkatsu, but it would have added something to the photos. And yes, that is the most boring bento you have ever seen. Making a pretty bento takes patience, I don’t really have that. But maybe some day I will actually try.

This photo is a result of my being happy that I found B&M baked beans in Indianapolis, haven’t been able to find this product since I moved from Massachusetts. B&M makes my favorite beans, and as an added bonus I love the jar they come in. The brown bread was sent from back home, no one in Indy carries that. Just need some hot dogs and I’m good to go.

I was on facebook looking at an old classmates photos and noticed she had up a really cute photo of her and her older sister from when they were little (taken around 1972), but like a lot of older pictures it had some damage. When we were in Jr. High School her sister was tragically murdered, and knowing that she has very few photos of her sister I was inspired to try and repair this one…Even though I don’t have photoshop and never fixed a damaged photo before, but I had recently downloaded a free program called Picasa that had a repair tool so I used that, it didn’t take long and turned out pretty good.

Please forgive the image quality, I still don’t have a working scanner so this was taken on the cell phone. Still trying to get my groove back, hoping to actually finish this sketch, instead of giving up on it (which has been my habit as of late). I plan on turning her into something mythological, like a fairy or elf. Not sure yet.

Even though it’s been almost a year, I didn’t forget about this blog. Unfortunately there has been nothing to update it with…Especially since I still do not have a scanner or a camera. How much more lame can I be? I haven’t really been doing anything creative, but I do occasionally take some photos using Kens cell phone, but nothing interesting there. Mostly poorly taken shots of food, or of my pets. I like taking pictures, even if they are not very good, because every one I take shows a part of my life and helps me to remember those little things. Like how good something tasted, when I did certain things, etc.

Out of boredom, and the fact that I am a bit geeky, I just started a new blog, “My Geeky Life“, which I am going to use for blogging about, you guessed it, geeky things. But still hoping to get more creative and update this blog soon. And I’d still like to post the cartoon sketches I did of me and Ken last year. I want to use mine as my “mascot” :)

Yeah, so the sketching thing didn’t last, I am in a slump once again (btw still no working scanner). But I did start getting the desire to take photos…Then my digital camera, which wasn’t a great one to begin with, decided it would act up and not work right and I don’t even have a cell phone anymore that I could use to take photos with. *sigh*

Oh, and to top it all off I have been sick for 2 weeks. I pretty much had a migraine the whole time. Imagine having constant pain in your head, dizziness and nausea. Fun. I haven’t been able to get anything done because of it and ended up missing some work as well. I think I am better now though.

At least I have Thursday to look forward to. It’s a “Geek Date”; going to the comic book store then to grab a bite to eat at Skyline and finally going to see Star Trek!

Just a small update…I did a little sketching this weekend, nothing much, but at least I am doing something with my drawing for a change.

I got the idea to make a little cartoony sketch of myself to scan in later so I can touch it up in photoshop and use it as an icon. Then that got me thinking to make one for Ken and have him leaning on a sign with the name of his website. Then both of those led me to thinking these were a couple of the characters I wanted to make in the web comic that I have been wanting to create. So this weekend, or whenever I have some downtime, I think I will finally work on my ideas for the web comic I want to make. I must get those creative juices flowing!

I would post the sketches that I did but my scanner is not working right now. *sigh*

I seem to have a creative block! I have done nothing since the cartoon sketch of Ken…I had wanted to start working on a webcomic with him but he has been busy with work, designing a website for someone and working on his own website. I think one of my problems may be that I have no inspiration. I don’t get out as much as I use to and I am still trying to get back into the creative groove. Hopefully soon.

But for now let’s you mock this odd design I came up with once for a project that I was given in college…

I have no clue.

Everyone needs a B&W photo! Right? Anyway this was a photo I snapped real quick one day on my cell phone because for some reason I felt the need to take a picture as I passed by. It was taken out in front of Home DePot in Methuen, MA. I decided to make it a black & white simply because I thought it looked better that way.

This is one of the few things I created in my past that I still managed to have. It’s a loose pen & ink that I drew about 10 years ago but unfortunately never noted what it came from. So I have no idea what I was inspired by.

This was just something fun that I did out of boredom one recent night. I made a quick little sketch of a cartoon version of Ken…He wanted me to give him arms but he is lucky that I gave him a neck and shoulders, I was going to just leave him as a floating head. ;) Oh…and his ‘eyes’ are his glasses.
